Bismarck is located in Hot Springs County, Arkansas, approximately fifteen miles southwest of Hot Springs and fifteen miles northwest of Arkadelphia. Nearby Hot Springs offers all the attractions and amenities one would expect to find in a first-class resort town. Visitors to the city can enjoy fishing and boating on Lake Hamilton, thoroughbred horseracing at Oaklawn Park, and camping at Hot Springs National Park. Popular entertainment destinations within the city include Magic Springs Water & Theme Park, the National Park Aquarium, and Garvan Woodland Gardens, a botanical garden operated by the University of Arkansas.

Just north of the city of Hot Springs, Hot Springs Village offers championship golfing at its finest. The village features no fewer than nine championship-caliber golf courses ranging in skill level from beginner to advanced, and includes the Diamante, one of the toughest courses in the nation according to Private Clubs magazine in 2006.
